Job Title: Power Specialist
Job Description
To Plan Electrical Load requirements for all equipment including air conditioning/future expansions/sharing at:
BTS locations
BSC / Fibre Nodes
Switch Locations etc.

The job requires planning of complete electrical infrastructure such as:
  • Batteries, Rectifiers, UPS, Inverters, Air-conditioners, IPMS,
  • ATS panels, DG, PHCN, Transformers, AVRs
  • Hybrids, IPMS and solar installations
He must ensure that all preventive, corrective jobs are carried out as required on the equipment to maximize full potential of equipment before product reaches end of life (EOL). He should also be responsible for EOL replacement, upgrades or swap outs.
He must also be abreast with the latest energy saving technologies and must recommend such solutions from time to time in the interest of the organization and environment.
Key Result Areas
  1. Power requirement plan for all sites including BTS/BSC/Core nodes/fiber nodes etc.
  2. Successful operation of Generators, Batteries, Rectifiers, PHCN, Hybrid, IPMS, Solar and the business obtains intended benefits
  3. Planning and adherence of Preventive maintenance of passive equipment on site.
  4. Meet Network OPEX targets.
Desired Skills & Experience
1. Qualification
  • HND or B. Sc. Engineering or Sciences
2. Experience
  • 5+ years working experience (Power System Operation & Maintenance)
  • 2 Year in Telecommunications Industry
  • A Good working Knowledge of DG, AC, Inala, DC components, AMF panel, Hybrid, PHCN, Solar, etc Understanding of AC and DC power system
  • Solid understanding of the active components of BTS sites.
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of GSM related Power Network
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of operations & maintenance of power system
3. Attributes
  • Ability to work under pressure and round the clock.
  • Good analytical skills and use of Microsoft office applications (Excel, Power Point).
  • Demonstrated skills of co-ordination with multiple vendors and stake holders.
  • Understanding of Telecommunications Business
  • Strong Leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
