ECOWAS Young Professional Internship Programme – 2014


West African Health Organization and it partners announce its Young Professional Internship Programme for 2014 which
will simply commence in January 2014 and hereby invite applications from
citizens of member countries of ECOWAS


AIMS:
The main purpose of the programme is to equip young professionals with
knowledge skill and experience for effective management of health problems in West African Countries.


Structure Of Programme:
. The 12 months programme is actually divided into four stages (I-IV)


. The stages one and four will take place at the headquarters of WAHO in Burkina Faso, at which the interns will acquire knowledge and competence in basic principles of public health, and a second official language of ECOWAS, with new computer information technology, as well as basic principles of management and leadership.

. While during stage three and four the interns would be posted to host institutions in different countries in West Africa to acquire practical skills.


The Priority Domain For 2014
Applicants for 2014 internship should have interest in one or more of the following priority technical area/domains:


1) Reproductive Health
2) HIV/AIDS
3) Child Survival
4) Nutrition
5) Malaria
6) Health Research
7) Disease Control/Epidemiology


Benefits:
. All interns would be provided with accommodations and would also receive a monthly allowance during the period of the programme. All your travel costs related to the Internship Programme would be paid for and learning materials would be provided.


Application Requirement:
All applicant must be a Citizen of the ECOWAS member countries, and must be available throughout the 12 months period and should have:
. Minimum of First degree
. applicant should be able to write or read in one of the official ECOWAS language
. Applicant should have basic competence in information and communication technology
